After watching the trailer for Red Riding Hood I started musing over fairytales and was inspired by one of my favourite characters, Rose Red, from Snow White & Rose Red.
Been working on this for the past 2 days, i think this is the first time in a while i've sat back and just enjoyed creating something without a tonne of distractions~
Bubbles, my beautiful <3 Where do I start? Well firstly I must comment on the beautiful technique used on the sky - the clouds are beautiful and the stars really stand out. That part where the clouds blend in a mist around the moon is gorgeous, you used a very good technique.
I would have worked on the skin colouring a little more to make it pop, maybe looking up some detailed tutorials would help. I would have added more colouring details to the girl also, just to make the piece that little bit more special.
Overall honey I think you have made the piece with good technique and vision. You are very good at drawing roses I can see. keep practicing and you will get even more better than you already are.
First, it really catches your eye because of the use of saturared yet contrasting colors. I like the composition very much! The detail on the roses is great! You could have put a tad more effort on drawing some leaves so the lined flowers matched with the bushes >v<
I love the texture on the sky, maybe because I tend to use the same for my skies, but in any case, it looks good and the fact that you followed the moon's shine to shade them with those green and pink tones gives it depth.
The color of the sky itself gives the drawing a clear summer night atmosphere that matches the expression of the girl. I also love the little dots of light. They give the drawing life and movement as much s the flowing hair does.
Maybe the shading on the clothes isn't matching the overall lighting, and some folds are missing. The hair looks a bit flat even if it does have shading. To avoid that, try shading hair in continuous lines, not only in certain areas.
I like the lineart, and the color of her eyes. Her skin has also little shading problems, but they're not serious and it looks well in the drawing. About the transparency on the lowest part of the dress, you could have made it look even more transparent and the effect would have been more... fantastic? X3
Anyway, great job, keep it up! I hope I can help you improve with this little critique
